ObboMed Therapeutic Low Air Loss Mattress with Alternating Pressure
The ObboMed Automatic Alternating Pressure and Low Air Loss (LAL) Mattress is designed to provide advanced pressure relief and therapeutic support for patients who are bedridden, immobile, overweight, or managing incontinence. Featuring an automatic alternating pressure system, the mattress actively promotes healthy blood circulation, reduces prolonged pressure points, and helps prevent pressure ulcers and skin breakdown. Its integrated low air loss technology improves airflow to keep the skin cool, dry, and comfortable throughout extended periods of use.
For added safety and stability, the mattress includes a 5-inch raised perimeter with supportive side bolsters, helping reduce the risk of rolling while still allowing easy caregiver access for transfers and daily care. Ideal for both home care and clinical environments, the ObboMed LAL mattress delivers reliable comfort, protection, and long-term durability for patients requiring continuous support.
Advanced Rotational Pressure Therapy for Total Comfort, Safety & Skin Protection
- 15° Self-Lateral Rotation: Specially designed 15-degree self-lateral rotation utilizing cone-shaped air cells. Continuously deflating and inflating cone-shaped air cells provide a regular wave and soft self-lateral rotation via alternating pressure. Therapy redistributes user’s weight to alleviate pressure points and stimulate blood flow, preventing bedsores.
- Side Bolster + Sinking Feature + Centralization: Cone-shaped air cells allow the mattress surface to sink up to 5 inches deep, keeping patient centralized during alternating and self-lateral wave rotation. Creates a 9-inch soft barrier to keep the patient safely placed in bed, even during 40-degree rotation. Grants easy access to caregivers.
- Fowler And Seating: Designed to increase support in the seat/torso section of the mattress when the head of the bed is raised. Prevents patients from “bottoming out.”
- Dynamic Low Air Loss: Below the cover layer, dynamic low air loss (LAL) therapy (16 liters per minute) removes humidity under the patient. Transfers moisture and heat away from the patient’s skin, maximizing comfort and support for those with stage 1-4 pressure ulcers.
- Cell-on-Cell Mattress Design: 24-hour power outage protection to prevent bottoming out during power failure. Bottom layer remains inflated if air hose is connected to the control unit. Control unit located on the footboard manages all functions.
ObboMed OB-2600 Mattress Cover Features

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Who is the ObboMed OB-2600 mattress designed for?
The ObboMed OB-2600 is designed for adults who are bedridden, immobile, overweight, or at risk of pressure ulcers, including patients with stage 1–4 pressure injuries. It is ideal for home care, long-term care, rehabilitation, and clinical settings where advanced pressure redistribution, skin protection, and patient safety are required.
How does the 15° self-lateral rotation help prevent bedsores?
The mattress uses cone-shaped air cells that continuously inflate and deflate to create a gentle 15-degree self-lateral rotation. This alternating motion redistributes body weight, reduces prolonged pressure on sensitive areas, improves blood circulation, and helps prevent pressure sores without requiring manual repositioning.
What makes the side bolsters and sinking feature safer for patients?
The OB-2600 features a sinking mattress surface that lowers up to 5 inches, keeping the patient centralized during rotation therapy. Combined with 13-inch side bolsters, it creates a 9-inch soft safety barrier that helps prevent rolling or falls—even during up to 40-degree rotation—while still allowing easy caregiver access.
What is Dynamic Low Air Loss (LAL) therapy and why is it important?
Dynamic Low Air Loss therapy delivers 16 liters per minute of airflow beneath the mattress cover to remove excess heat and moisture from the skin. This helps keep the patient cool, dry, and comfortable, reduces skin maceration, and supports healing for individuals with pressure ulcers or incontinence-related skin concerns.
What happens if there is a power outage?
The OB-2600 features a cell-on-cell mattress design that provides 24-hour power outage protection. If electrical power is lost, the bottom air cell layer remains inflated as long as the air hose is connected to the control unit, helping prevent bottoming out and maintaining patient support until power is restored.
