No — the wheelchair must first be powered on manually before the remote can be activated. This step ensures the remote pairs properly with the chair.
Does the wheelchair arrive fully assembled?
The chair arrives nearly assembled. You'll simply need to attach a few parts, such as the joystick, and you'll be ready to go.
Is this wheelchair permitted on airplanes or cruise ships?
Yes — the ComfyGo IQ-9000 uses 7.5 AH (180 Wh) lithium-ion batteries that are generally approved for air and cruise travel. It's always wise to check with your specific carrier about their battery rules before traveling.
Can the chair be operated while the backrest is reclined?
Though the wheelchair will still function when reclined, it is not recommended to drive in that position due to increased tipping risk and potential safety hazards.
What happens if the battery runs out—can I still move the chair?
Yes — the IQ-9000 can be manually pushed like a standard wheelchair. Simply turn off the power and unlock both motors using the levers to switch to free-wheel mode.
